That doesn't seem too bad of a price to be fair.

What would you say is a rough guess towards total parts cost on conversion?

It should be +10K if I stuck with just upgrading the existing stuff and painting it but I'm starting to go mad I bet it will be 30K in the end

Hey

Sorry for the lack of responses, appears my email alert stopped working!

I saw that ebay one when it came on but the gumtree makes me wonder what the reserve is.

Currently it talks with someone about buying theirs off of them, hopefully all goes well!

I have a very clean 260 2/2 rhd but as other members have mentioned they are rare.I would not sell mine for less than 20.000 .With other cars like 240/260 z upwards of 30.000 plus make sense to invest in a clean 2/2

Although i share your sentiment, rarity doesn't equate to desirability or therefore, value, where a 2+2 is concerned :(

Mine is insured for £18000 at the moment, but given the difficulty to recreate it if the worst happened, it should be insured at more like £30000!

This topic has been discussed before. You should insure based on replacing like for like, not based on (usually lower) market sales value. Otherwise you risk being unable to replace a car with anything comparable to what you had.

Out of interest can i ask what the approximate value of Dixie is and what you've insured it for?

I've been told by several insurance companies that to insure it for more than £20,000 it must be garaged at the house overnight, unfortunately my garage is rented, onblock, albeit just down the road!

Dixie - not very much/who knows currently given its in pieces spread between my garage and a barn workshop!

The Fairlady Z - plenty, with requirement it is garaged overnight etc. Will get interesting when I move it the workshop for storage...

Sorry mixed the two up, i meant the Fairlady not Dixie :)

Fingers crossed the insurance company don't 'spit the dummy out the pram' when you explain about the move to storage!

I have a modernish Porsche worth more than 20K and they want it on the drive and not in the garage for insurance. My garage is on my land as well, I'm with a specialist and they said they get more garages burnt down or fall down than cars are stolen
