I'm discovering that the milometer on my car is over-recording mileage to the tune of about 15%. The car thinks it is going further than it actually is. I haven't tested to see whether the speedo is doing the same but I would guess it is.
I'm running 14" wheels with a 195/60 profile tyre, so would that be contributin versus OEM? Could it be a cable issue (hmm maybe but low likelihood?). Or is it rooted where the speed/distance is being read from the drivetrain? By what mechanism does this take place - gearbox/diff?
Note that the gearbox and diff are not the original (4spd -> 5 spd with R200 diff). If this is the likely cause, what is the solution to recalibrating ?
