I also had a good day of "data logging". I'm back to using my old paddle clutch from when I first did the 1jz conversion in 2010 and I remember the problems I had with it back then. I spent over a year stuck in the low 12's and that's pretty much where I am now. I remember the only way I could get past the 12s block was to change to an organic clutch and slip it off the line to keep the car on boost.
I will continue to persevere with the current setup and try and master it until the twin plate organic is available (6 week wait). I don't want to kill the paddle as I did a few weeks back. I think its just a case of lots of practice to find the right launch. My 60's were all in the 2.2-2.5 second range which is pretty poor considering I was down to 1.65s with the organic.
Despite all this, the car is running very well and crisp all the way to redline. The terminals are a little confusing though as it indicates my power levels are no more than with the twins and factory ecu although that was with nitrous. This could well be down to high intake temps and the ecu taking out some spark to compensate for this. I will be analysing the logs from the day to see where I can gain a bit of power. Plus looking into water injection as a way to tame the temperature's a bit. I always remember how nice the car ran on nitrous with the cool charge. Maybe I can get some of that back with the water injection and not have the pain in the butt of getting the bottles filled up.
Impressive terminals from Wyn which shows there's much better times to come. Quickest times are with Terry, even with a very slippery track. The track got worse as the day went on so it became harder to improve the times as the day went on.
