what diff is this?

There's a couple of diffs on ebay that claim to be from Zs, but don't look right to me. What are they? Subaru R160?

might be out of the older nissan trucks? Subaru r160 don't have flange outputs I think.

Subaru R160's diffs have snap ring's to hold the output shafts in, so no bolts in the centre like the above,

That above diff is a R180 , you can tell by the cover plate

Yeah that's a Subrau R160, they look similar and share a few detail's with the R180 in our Z's ,

rear cover plate gives away its a R160

They were both made buy Fiju Heavy Industries

Nah, the rats appear to have been at the pinion unfortunately.

I've heard of putting sawdust in a diff to quieten it down but rats?!

Here's the current pinion. It's probably serviceable, but I think the pinion is at the wrong height, so replacement is easier than repair I reckon.

No, just a reminder that younger doesn't mean better....just's just typical road exposure - it'll clean up luverly mate.
