The suspension thread

And you can't embed pics on the site as to do so you have to have them hosted somewhere and you have to have jpg files which display as thumbnails ... sometimes they don't even open for me ...

I'll agree that it there are many issues with uploading picture to the site, which really annoys me. Yes, they are very slow to access (If you click next, all the way through the files they then display) and you can only attach 1 per post from an iphone/ipad. But at least the threads will always show the pics.

Wish I had an answer.

This is going to be a massive issue across the web, I personally find the internal method of hosting images slightly frustrating in that I like to embed images within the thread. I get frustrated opening the thumbnails at the bottom of a page to view images.

I used to use photobucket however when it started slowing down months ago I moved across to flickr which seems to be doing a great job at the minute. I think it brings the threads to life with the images visible straight away amongst the text myself.

If the forum had a way of hosting images and allowing them to be embeded into the threads then I'd be game however its well beyond my extremely basic IT means. Hopefully there's a wiz on here who may know better.

I suppose the only alternative is private cloud storage possibly....

I think the site's gallery function could work quite well for thread photo's, if you didn't have to wait for approval before using.

The GAZ setup evolved over the years and now has 350lb all round which gives the car a very neutral feel. Plus when you wind the dampers down it great on the roads. The GAZ setup has lasted really well as the car has seen quite a few miles and still as good today as when I first purchased it. Makes me think twice about why I've gone for BC's really. Ah yes, now I remember, its price. The BC's cost me £500 less than the GAZ setup. As the car will only be for occasional track use I think I've gone the right way. The BC setup is more road orientated with spring rates of 225lb and 275lb. These may still be a little hard for the light 240z and probably just right for the heavier 260/280z. I'll have to see how it goes.
Out of interest, have you tried the BC's yet as would be interested to see how you found them?

I've not tried them yet but I am pretty close. The silver car is up on the ramp, ready for a mini restoration. I'll strip the entire running gear later this week, touch in any missing factory underseal, then refinish the underside. I already have a complete powder coated suspension to go back on along with the BC's, 5 speed box, 3.9 R180 with quaife, and should get the car all back together by the end of next week. Then it just leaves the new engine to sort out.

I've collected my car today after they fitted some lowering springs I got fro MJP, I don't really think they've made much difference, will they 'settle down'?

First pic with New Springs

I don't think they'll settle lower than that.
They have made a difference, but lower would be better wouldn't it.
Do you know which top mount/ insulators it has? There are short ones and long one.

The US cars are higher than the UK cars as the spring perch is in a different place. The front looks lower but IMO the US cars need to drop a good 3" at the front and the lowering springs will only do around half that. The rears need lowering less IMO. If your fussy like me with regard to how the car sits then the only way to go is adjustable platforms.

It's certainly much firmer and drives better now I've had the sway bars done and springs fitted, a huge step forward from where it was

I managed to fit in a couple of hours at the workshop today so cut the struts down and fitted the weld on sleeves for the BC's. Should be ready to start the suspension swap over on sunday.
