Im in the middle..okay maybe 25% in restoring. Discovering more and more not all good. It is though an education. In my next life Ill be more prepared. Ive just brought in a bonnet and tail gate new from classic restorations in the states. In fact as shipping the same brought two extra tail gates for 240. I will move them on. They are in Blyth along with primed original bonnet. Makes my last edition Beetle parts a bargain.

Pictures of new gates..quite beautiful.

Resurrected classics. Max the owner very helpful and enthusiastic. He will add to his productions as he tools up but the quality is good. Too early to say if fit excellent as my car is in bits in various locations including the dining room. Shell is in Bedlington near Blyth. I brought in 3 tail gates as there was no additional cost to the wopping $800 shipping. But add in the VAT and duty and you'll see why they come in expensive. $650 new in US. But..the whole project went from doable to extortionate but once in, what can you do. I need now only the rubber packs and a front bumper. Oh...and I don't have a garage so that's next.
