Stone chipping

Hi all
Next stage of my resto is to have stone chip applied by the garage.
Question is there an agreed norm as to how high the stone chip should come up the sill. I’m trying to keep the overall look of the car as original as practical. Car is silver to any stone chipping on the sill would be made to match the paint colour
Thanks in advance
Kieron

Personally speaking, I don't think it is necessary on the outer sill panels.

I'd confine it to the area *inboard* of the spotwelded seam under the sills, which is - essentially - the floor. No need for it in areas of the bodyshell which would normally have topcoat, unless you are planning on off-roading.
