are you trying to get me in that classified system were i can post stuff in the most complicated classified system i have seen in the entire internet? and after i got stuff working i cant see replies on my own topic because i am a non paying member?
i dont want to go there, its to user unfriendly for me :)

ill just stick with ebay.

but thanks for letting me know!

Complicated?
Not that hard to understand, just place your ad and wait a week for the paid members to express interest by email or phone. After that it's open to everyone. It's also free which you cant say about ebay.

It's a lot less complicated if your a paid member, but you dont want to hear that...

I cant see the benefits of that other than being able to buy stuff a week before other Z enthousiasts can buy them.
I always thougt car clubs were to help eachother out with stuff and good advice for free :)

But lets stick to the topic!

No offence but you're not in this car club - you're a member of the forum which is free and open to anyone. The forum anf club organisation costs for which some of us pay a membership fee and rightly expect a littel more for our money.

The BIG problem is that there isn't an overseas or (if the committee prefer) an internet only membership fee for those that don't, can't won't attend UK meetings etc !

I'm sure you and others would contribute a modest fee for such a membership which isn't a £15 membershiop fee lost but rather a £7 (€8.50 ?) per year fee gained !

I myself are the owner of the Dutch 200SX club, we had the paid membership for some time but we stopped it because it was just to much work. People expect to much from it, people think if we pay a few euro's we get a trackday every weekend and we get all this stuff that non paying members dont get etc etc.
No we just have the internet based stuff, forum and nothing else. Everyone is happy, everyone can post stuff and buy and sell stuff, and almost twice a month a gorup of forumusers meets somewere on a parking lot or on a track without the need of people who organise stuff and want money for that. And if they need to pay for anything they just make a topic on the forum to gather some money from the members.

Hosting a website cost 70 euro's a year which is paid by the traders, there are always 3 extra enthousiast members who want to be a moderator and every year we make a bunch of stickers and t-shirts and thats it.

So thats why i dont see the need to pay for an internet forum.

But if anyone over here wants me to pay 7 pounds, or even 8.50 and that lets me look at the classifieds ill be happy to pay that just to see how much i have been missing before.

We have the same - adverts are free, one must register frist of coruse and be approved. It works well - someone just registered to give avay a car, the other day some parts - this wouldn't have happened if they'd have had to pay !
We do have a payable membership BUT we ensure that people EASILY get their money back via parts discounts, tech docs and reduced club tarifs for events. And it's only €15 a year.

You don't have to pay for the internet forum no hands, it's free to be a website member.

If you are a club member you get additional benefits though.

There are products you can buy through the club which easily outway the £15.:)

i no, but those benefits are more interesting to the UK members since all of this is UK based.

but we have to stop with this subject in my tires thread, i am willing to discus this topic forever but i dont want to mess up with a piece of information about tiresizes.

Only joking if interested send me a pm, I am able to deliver to most parts of the uk.

Not this one and certainly not any website with decent traffic volumes.

Anyway as mentioned this is a technical forum so lets get back on track

Well that is just not making sense. My forum has twice the amount of new post every day and more users online all the time than this forum.

Just have to get yourself a good hoster :)

Can somebody lock this topic, it just cant be about tyres only..

I think twice the volume of posts as this site doesn't add up to 'decent traffic volumes' :)
