Latest news from the ministry of transport.
All the scrapyard's are to be shut down & in future scrap
vehicle's are to be sent to special plant's where monitored
breakage of vehicle's will take place.
I,m told waste material's & hazardous chemical's are to be
sorted in a controlled evironment, that is, battery acid's,oil, fuel
etc & a vehicle about to be scrapped will cost 300 quid.
This information come's from a bigwig M.O.T spot checker
& trainer & this motion is in process.........DJZ 60.

Don’t think scrap yards will be closed down as such

A vehicle dismantlers/recyclers is where all cars will be taken to be dismantled at their controlled elv stations (End of life vehicle) looks just like a glorified garage with added rigs to drain the fluids off.
That’s where the cars will end up having all their fluids, glass, plastics etc removed and processed
£20 is the charge atm dep where you are, but obv it will end up going up over time.

The shell then goes to the scrap yard to be crushed

Prepare to see the countryside littered with dumped scrap cars that never got transferred to a legitimate new owner on the registration document. How much more "bagging and tagging" can we stand?

Either side of France will do ! Here it's free but must be collected by a scrappy who gives you a certificate effectively exonerating you from any further responsibility for the vehicle. Scrappys' costs are met by what he can get back from the car but he can't refuse to collect a car so the law says !

I think there are many reason's for this decision,Stolen car's,part's
& such illegal activitie's along with trying to reduce the amount of
car's reappearing on our road's after condemnation.
Can you think of any other reason's?.....DJZ 60.

Yes !!
To many fookin do gooders !
Its more all environment driven imo.
Can’t spill this
Gotta drain that
Every thing has to be recyclable! blarblarblar.

What happened to the good old days when it was perfectly ok to flip a car on its side, pizz the oil, petrol and antifreeze out everywhere? Then attack the running gear with a disc cutter/gas axe :D
