S30 Wiper-arm orientation

Here is a scan of the 1977/78 model year UK (RHD) brochure (black-finished wiper arms and blade carriers). The scan illustrates that the passenger side wiper blade sits under the wiper arm, i.e. the wiper blade pin is pushed up from the bottom, whereas on the drivers side it is inserted from the top.

Surprised that this observation hasn't drawn more comment.
My wiper arms are the original Japanese items, different lengths and (now) fitted the correct way round (longer arm on passenger side), and have 18 inch wiper blades.
However, this point that A2Z makes, that the wiper blade is attached below the arm on the passenger side and above the arm on the driver's side is fascinating.
Mine are both fitted with the blade below the arm. Not tried swapping the driver's side one around yet but wonder if it will make any difference. There has got to be some reason for it (and my car is the exact same model year as the brochure picture).
