Got the front wheel alinment set up the guy at the garage pointed out that the rear was well out. I looked into this and found 10mm toe in. LH looks worse. Not any loose bushies that I can see. MOT pass in may. could have been like this when I got car (four years)

Rear suspension should not have any toe in and is non adjustable.
10mm is almost half an inch out!!!
You would need to have a bush completely knocked out to be that bad.
I would be looking for suspension damage or shell damage to give readings that far out.

I have the same problem with my R/H rear strut it has all been rebushed & nothing is loose, the only thing we can think of is it is a bent wishbone there is no visual damage but I'm going to fit a different one & hope this is the cause, I will let you know. ;) Is your car a 240 if so I've heard that 260 wishbones are alot stronger.

Hi Pete
Which other things are there to look for in the rear suspension apart from the wishbone that could cause this my shell is a rust free import that has never been damaged.
Thanks Gwyn

I think that if u had 10 mm tow in on any wheel, u should have noticed the tyre wearing on the outside edge by now, at least after 4 years, or even after 700 miles or so maybe a bent pin or a twisted mcpherson strut

with respect have you actually measured the toe-in accurately or are you using the body etc as a reference point? 240s do look as if they have a lot of rear toe-in.

Thanks all. the car is a 240z. You can see the toe in by looking down at wheel. Mesured by set square and tape as best I could. Changed tyres before MOT handling is real bad. Think the previous tyres were good enough to compensate.

First trhing to do is have it checked using a proper tracking guage.
