I have different BBS splits for mine

genuine BBS LM's 17x10j rear and 17x9j fronts

my mate is doing a full refurb on 'em, he's taking his time lol

and I'm just waiting for my rear coilovers to come through, company just down the road from MJP does custom coilovers for any car for a very good price, so if you go down that route might be pretty useful!.

other than that only other news is that Banzai is showing interest in featuring it once I have it fully done :driving::thumbs:

The BBS LM's sound good, I used to have some on my R32 GTR

I take it you mean GAZ in Basildon?

I've already got some Leda coilovers for the 200ZR which were originaly fitted to an S12 silvia turbo. I did a bit of reaserch before I purchased them and it seems S12 suspension is the same as a Z31 so hopefully they will fit without to much hassle!!
I also picked them up for a very reasonable price
I'll get a few pictures up of them.

Risk?? There is no risk really, if they don't fit then I'll sell them to someone with an S12.

Suspension parts for S12's as well as Z31's are very rare and so are always going to be in demand

Datsfun, yes I did buy your old engine to stick in my s12.

Have you still got the Violet and the R30?

Yep, still got the violet, she is now pushing around 250ponies...so lots of fun;)
The R30 was stolen...not to be seen again.

I was doing a few bits on the car today and took a few pictures of the Leda coilover set up that will hopefully fit on the 200ZR!

This pic shows the o/s set up

Modified spring seat with coilover tube and spring on rear wishbone arm

Not a bad bit of welding. Would leda of done this fabrication on the wishbone arms???

Front coilover in need or a clean
054-1.jpg

Still fitted with the Silvia top mounts which differ slightly to the Z31
068-1.jpg

Hopefully this is the same diameter as a Z31
057-1.jpg

Still fitted with the Silvia four stud hubs, hopefully the stub axles will be identical!!

it wont take you that long man lol

took me ages to take mine off though, due to stubborn bolts

but was pretty much a breeze after

just got call from Gaz today, they cracking on doing my rear coilies

basically single coilover unit will go where the damper is, then I just get rid of the divorced original spring

It won't take me long to do the actual removal/refitting of the shocks/springs, its just that I'm busy with non car related stuff :(

I've heard that the area around where the rear shocks mount is'nt strong enough to take the entire weight of the car which is what would happen with a singular coilover unit.
(I'm not sure how accurate this is but I read it many times on different sites when reaserching about coilovers on Z31's) :)

I'd go cautiously with this too.

Similar set-ups are available for my Toyota, and I just can't see how the damper mounting points can be strong enough alone. There must be some reinforcement needed otherwise the whole assembly will just punch a ****ing great hole in the monocoque.

I disagree:devil:...well to be honest I had similar conservative views like the ones expressed above. Then spoke to a mate who had done a similar conversion on a rally car and to date no great holes in the shell...OK, he has plated the mounting hole, but in his opinion for road use , there would be no need for additional reinforcements. I have done the same mod on my 610sss and so far, so good:thumbs:

Yep, got one from a celica RA40,a type F LSD unit with 4.1.1 ratio. Apparently these are a great favourite with the drag racing boys. So the Datsun is now wearing a Toyo rear end:eek:

when I researched on this, I discovered someone in the states had also been concerned about this, and this is what he came out with.

(also to add my Z31 is a short wheel base, so I imagine being lighter on the back would be an advantage...I guess)

The stock jounce bumper is on the damper, and jounce bumpers are designed to handle at the very least the car's weight times gravity (M*G) in force (N) when the car bottoms out hard. The stock sheet metal thickness in this area is equal on the rear and front damper mounting locations. The Infiniti M30, which essentially uses a slightly revised version of the Z31 suspension, uses the same location for spring and shcok mounting, and has a similar rear shock tower design.

yeah £150 per corner front and think they took £100 per rear

£550-ish all in including carriage, mine had to be sent twice, they did the fronts first and once I fitted them I turned the car around and sent the backs, just waiting on them now
