November Octane Magazine - Samuri

I haven’t seen it either yet, but I do know it’s Paul Matt’s car that’s featured.

JK.

I had a quick look at this. It's disappointing imo, as the name suggests it focuses on Spikes early madness on the road and where he used to work. If you've read the Samuri book it's nothing new. Very little on what they actually did.

Paul comments on why he carries a fire extinguisher - I think I've seen his car on fire at Silverstone.

Remember that and also it had won best Z from the Nissan rep who we had invited there Brilliant day though

Half of Bristol (first fire) and most of the crowd at Silverstone (second fire) saw my car in flames… doing my best to avoid a hat-trick. Seems to be working so far :)

Yes it was a huge success, masterminded by Steve Burns. Massive turnout of all types of Zs and plenty of track action including the record breaking parade.

Kinghorn, Gaskin and Burns - there’s a dodgy accountancy company if I ever saw one
Maybe if Spike had employed them to do his books he might still be in the UK producing race cars and not living in exile*

My great uncle John's firm was actually Burwell, Reed and Kinghorn.
Engineers though not accountants, sadly both the firm and Uncle John are no longer with us.

JK

*allegedly...!
