You must be similar age to me then!!

But if you mean the Transatlantic Trophy series over the Easter time, I think it was ran at Mallory, Brands & Oulton Park - not Donnington.

If you are referring to something else, you are probably considerably younger than me!!

It would help if we knew when you were 15.
I went to my 1st race at the end of '69 and seen all the Mallory & Oulton match races since '72 (I was ill in 71).
Can't remember if I saw any at Donnington but I did see the world series there in '79 with teams from Aus/NZ,GB,France,Italy (inc Rossi's dad) & possibly USA.

A friend of my family used to race in the Transatlantic I believe, totally fixed. Was told he wasn't allowed to win or something and they black flagged him, all about money :-/

Around that time I went down to Exeter half mile dirt track to see Aldana & Roberts dirt tracking, I'm glad I went it was awsome.

dav350z, did you ever see Jarno Saarinen race or even remember him?
Certainly did - he was a Finn, wasn't he? Remember painting a mates helmet in his colours once, as I used to paint helmets as a sideline.

Dave.

Seen them on film but never 'in the flesh', bet that was fantatstic.

Watched Ole olsen, Egon muller etc riding longtrack once and that was great, but the yanks riding dirt track is something else!!! :D

Here's a question for the 'oldies', like me, amongst us!!!

The following pic is from Mallory - Transatlantic Races. Anyone know the year and identify the riders. I know one and think I know another.

Any ideas?

Dave.
He was known as the "Flying Finn", I saw him at Silverstone & Mallory in 71&72, can't remember where he finished in 71, but in 72 he won all his races & also at Scarborough but sadly I didn't see him there as my bike was broke. There are quite a few web pages on him.
