This is for sale by someone I know - Also know a bit of the story on how he acquired it - if you need more details pm me...

Thoughts on price? Personally I think its overpriced but it might sell, the owner found it in what he thought was relatively cheap and is now trying to make a 'quick buck'.

Its rotten... and the pictures that have been taken don't show the worst of it.

The roof looks OK and I quite like the seat covers.

Original UK RHD car and all complete.

That's all the good I can say about it - if I'm harsh.

Will need a mountain of work to get into any kind of decent shape.

But I've seen rustier ones that this go for close on £10k - (orig RHD UK cars)

So he's not that far out wth the price. Whether it's worth that is another matter of course.

The better question would be what will it be worth if (sorry - when) restored ?

Work backwards to find out at what price it would be attractive to buy.

It is amazing that people will buy poor rusty cars when there are good cars out there but because the asking price is high they are not bought. The RHD aspect certainly helps sales here.

You only have to look at Candy Red's experiences to understand what is involved to bring a rusty car back to a roadworthy condition.

Most people don't want to spend or have available to spend £30k+ on an old Datsun but may well have £12k they can spend now. Then can either do a lot of the work themselves or spread the additional costs over the next 3-4 years and if will feel less painful. I can fully understand why the cheaper cars sell far easier. It's hard to convince people that a converted rust free LHD car is a far better option.
