Been on the road a lot recently so sorry for late reply. Thanks for all the kind comments, but like we always say it would have been nothing with out you lot. Well I say nothing, it would have been us scratching our arses watching an empty runway... So thank you one and all.
We really appreciate all the effort that each and every one of you makes, it means a lot to us and we're just glad it all worked out good with the weather etc, times look pretty tasty too...
I've got the PM's and will be finishing the article when I'm home again in a week or two. You saw what I drive and you'll know I'm into my older stuff through the conversations I had with a few of you. So for me personally it was a really good day and I really fell in love with a few of the cars. No favourites obviously, but we were seriously impressed.
I know its a little after the event (nearly a month) but.....
Whilst at the Bruntingthorpe day I recall (on a couple of occasions )rather than changing from 3rd to 4th, accidentally shifting from 3rd into 2nd.... at 102 mph
Easily done... dont laugh, in drag racing I dont use 4th
Today it occured to me that I had the ECU data logging turned on whilst we were doing the runs.
I have just checked the maximum rpm value achieved and would like to claim a new L series record
There are probably occasions where owners have revved higher....but their engines aren't with us any more. I recall an event with a young man, who should remain nameless, where he found first gear while braking hard from 100+mph to avoid an incident. The bits that didn't emerge through the side all gathered for a rod convention in the sump....
Apparently its out around the 10th of October, clearly Bryn has waited to get the dross out of the way so that they can finish the year off with some class and style (must have airbrushed Status out then )
