interior panels/plastics... where?

Very cool cap, but what does the lettering say?

Are you being brave and building your engine yourself or have you found a good engine builder to do all or some of the work? Will you be sharing a build thread going through the process? It will be an interesting thread for sure.

Worth mentioning Motorsport Auto/The Z Store as another option from the US. People seem to forget about/not know about them, despite them being one of the oldest and biggest parts suppliers stateside. They've got all the interior panels with a lot of options. Doesn't solve the usual issue of ludicrous shipping costs though. The US is pricing itself out of the international market in many areas tbh.

rough translation is "this engine will never work" :)

I'll be building myself, just getting the machining done externally.

The three Kanji say 'Kameari Ryū'.

Kameari is a district of Katusushika Ku, Tokyo. It was where Kameari Engine Works was originally based. They are now located in Yashio Shi, Saitama Ken, just outside the Tokyo metropolitan area.

'Ryū' can be translated as 'style', 'mode', 'in the manner of' or 'way' in the sense of mastery. It is quite often associated with arts and crafts, such as Japanese flower arranging or - at the other extreme - swordsmanship.

So the cap reads as 'Kameari style' or - if we want to add a little artistic license - 'The Way of Kameari'.

I have one of these valve covers and I would love to fit it but it sits so high that I’m worried would damage my bonnet. I know some people shave the front edge of the valve cover for clearance but I’m still not sure.

Fit it and put a bead of plasticine a cm thick around the edge of the valve clover. Close the bonnet gently and keep checking the plasticine for impressions. You'll be able to judge then if you can fully close it or not.

it does sit higher*, however I can't see how/why they'd make a product for so long that doesn't fit?

*to make room for massive cam lobes!

This is a good shout George, I’ve had the bonnet closed with the cover on (but no gasket) with my phone recording inside. On soft closing there was literally no gap although once the lid was closed you can see a gap. I’m just not brave enough to have it on with my decent bonnet!

You can see looking at the photo of lonely drivers car that was at SEMA this year that he’s shaved the corner on his.

……sorry Jason, don’t mean to hyjack your thread. I thought exactly the same as you, they must fit otherwise wouldn’t they change the design!

Its not a hijack! it is tall, it was the first thing I thought. Its also more 'rounded' than I've seen in pics.

If its too tall, just deck the engine block :D

All arrived today. Really happy with the quality and the bit of flex unlike the stiff fibreglass stuff. Attention to detail on some parts is good also.

does anyone know where to go for interior plastic trim sets?

Thanks.
Ive got a burgundy rear plastic panel as I brought a new black one in transit from US. They paint well with plastic satin paint if you're intetested. Also have a right door card as brought in two new ones awaiting going in. I am about to get a quote to have the rear vinyl replaced...was going to paint but you know how it is. Ive spent so much the car is with me to my end.
