importing a 280z from US

Hark, I see green shoots of going back to topic...

Regards tax on importing, as I found out importing the CSP, the taxman wanted VAT and import tax on the cost of the car and the cost of the shipping. I paid more to the taxman than the cost of the car.

You can get roll on roll off ferries from the East Coast for approx. £600, West Coast about £1000

The guy was talking about importing from the United states not Teignmouth (4000 miles on a ferry, I think not:rofl:)

Well, I can only go on the prices I was quoted about eight months ago, when I was looking to import a car, a Datsun for my son. These are the basic prices, but obviously there is a charge on top for loading and unloading. I don't consider myself a novice at doing this, as I have done it for many years, and imported many cars from classics to super cars for both myself and my colleagues. I recently gave advice to two guys who wanted to come back to the UK from America, both wanting to bring their Ford GTs back, and both took my advice and were happy with it. As for Teignmouth, you obviously live "Back to the Future", whereas I live in the real world.

Sorry my humour is a little left field sometimes, I was refering to a ferry travelling 4000 miles across the atlantic
