Don't know but the 240 has no MOT - ran out in December - but before that had passed the last 10 or so with one a very few advisories ... (mostly all in one year - tyres, etc)

And has only covered 22k miles in 11/12 years.

I wonder how many owners it has had? Does the article give any clues?

The 240 looks like Dean's car. Very nice condition and had quite a few upgrades since that article.

S130 is still with same owner I believe, lovingly being looked after in a dry heated de-humidified garage

The article doesn't say much about previous owners, only that Len Welch owns the 240 and Steve Hodgkins the ZX!

But this was in 2001

And spot the Z ...

Don't you wish you bought an e-type at that time for that sort of money and kept it!?

I visited Steve Hodgkinson back in 2012 and the 280ZX was in beautiful condition and drop dead gorgeous. Not spoken to him for a while, but no reason to doubt he’s still got it.

bmw 3.0 csl £8,990!

Samuri name still selling parts and cars then - nothing changes.:D

Yes Rob and the 4.2 E-Type for just £26k

I've just ordered a few copies of PC from ebay with Zs on the front ... (as above) - Great stuff!

Anyone want to guess the year of this ad when a 1962 E-type was £4k? C&S - not PC - and a 280Z would cost you £4950 in the UK (s/hand import)

Market exploded late 80s so before then, 1984/85 my guess ?

E Types have an unequalled magic, charm and charisma especially for those who grew up in the 60s/70s.

I have owned all variants from 1963/74 S1/2/3 cars, roadsters, coupes and 2+2 in 3.8, 4.2 and V12 guise. All have different characteristics and reflect similarities to the Z/ZX S30/S130 lineage in that the earliest 3.8 cars are the purest and rawest sports cars that later morphed into the V12 boulevard cruisers.

These days I prefer to own and drive S30 as a choice of preference, nicer to drive and a lot cheaper to own, win/win.

Chris is bang on the money ... 1984.

A 1962 E-type in unrestored original condition now I'm guessing would be 30x that price?

Restored ones maybe more. Probably a coupe which I prefer to the roadster anyway - not that I'll ever own one. A guy did offer me a '68 2+2 in about 1986 for £4k roughly - I hadn't got £4k for sure and it was rammed full of filler anyway, in resale red.

So I went and spent £2500 on a Stag that blew up three months later instead!
