Decline in traffic on the Parts for sale section.

Please note this is not a complaint. Merely a factual observation.
Over the years I have sold a fair amount of parts on Z club and I am greatful for all those sale.
Traditionally I have listed S30 parts on here before going to Ebay.
However looking at my recent ads the "viewings" appear to be tiny in comparison with previous years.
Not sure why????
In contrast Ebay sales remain strong and normally I am able to offset selling costs with higher selling prices.
Classic example today......
Item listed on here for over two weeks.....no sale. Very few views.
Item listed tonite with all fees covered.....Sold tonite.
Time for a change??

There are a lot more imports coming in needing knicknacks and those people are not aware of this site.

How to change that ? Promote the cars and club at the same time - discuss.
 
It seems that most things sell quite fast on here. The newer format seems to work.

You have had a few 'giving up' - 'retirement' type posts, maybe people haven't been looking because of those? Nearly as many sports directs closing down sales :)
 
I think the problem is sean spends all day on here and no sooner items are advertised sean has purchased them :rofl:

Sean, I will arrange for the undertray collection, most likely Friday, I've been flat out with work and busy all weekend. Just so you know I haven't forgotten!
 
There's not a massive flow of traffic through here in general imo however those that are are generally very enthusiastic but on the whole are probably fairly well kitted out in general with the exception of newer members such as myself.

For me it all depends on the items, I always take a look to see whats passing though as there's always some very helpful individuals about with lots of handy parts. I've been very lucky and humbled by the effort people are willing to make on here to help each other out. Its nice to see people willing to support the club and its members first before going to the public using good selling resources such as eBay imo however I imagine getting more traffic through is the best solution.

It would be great to see more action on the forum but as far as I can tell it has been in decline for a number of years. I just notice it more in classifieds as I dont post/read much else..
