Front bumper iron mounting holes thats how johns was and you could spin it like the speed of a yo yo

I never realy felt that the from bumper iron mounting points would be strong enough. So I went lower down onto the chassi rails. I'll take a picture later to illustrate. The rear you have little choice over it has to be the bumper mounts.

Heres Johns

I have to say though that there is no reason why it wouldn't. Unlike Johns you can set the pivot point.

Well I might not have explained that too well but I know what I mean.

Car should be fine on the bumper mounts as long as there is no rot around them ,I've got a very heavy mg magnette on a spit on the bumper mounts and you can do a full 360 with no probs

Just this week set mine up on a home made roll over jig.
Made mine from timber I had kicking about used 4x4 fence post for upright and some 3x2 for the bracing/ base
Then used some 2x2 box metal mounted to front/ rear bumper mounts works well if I new how to post a picture on this site I would do .
As I had the timber the metal only cost £18
Well chuffed with it

Thanks guys for your input was thinking it should be bolted to the bumper mount points but i do have a little rot there so was thinking of of mounting it via the box section thanks again good DIY spit well done I'm thinking on buying a kit rotisserie that you weld together yourself

That's how I mounted mine.

A couple of second-hand engine stands with a 300mm insert in the vertical support.
The axis of rotation is 75mm above the bumper mount on a 240Z.

Note, mine is in Oz so it rotates anticlockwise!

If you have a look in my gallery I think there is a couple of pics there of mine. I mounted mine on the end of the chassis rails where the toe eye/ strap down goes

Rotisserie

Hi Derrick, the following link shows details my rotisserie.

http://www.zparts.com/zptech/articles/restoration/phenley/rotisserie/index.htm

Also some pics of it in use. I've now finished with it, if you'd like to have it you can, only you'd have to pick up the two stands from Cumbria.
I'd only request that when you've finished with it, then you offer it to the Club members for any other member doing a restoration :)

Paul

Thanks Paul for your kind offer but too far to come to pick up so I've decided to build my own rotisserie built out of scaffold poles as I'm a builder had some knocking around which we don't use any more ,Got some 6mm plate bolted to front of car then 2x2 box section welded between the plates .Rear of car same plates bolted to bumper mounts with 2 x1 box section welded to plates total cost my time :D

Thanks for all of for advice
