Anyone got an 'Edge' starter motor?

What's wrong with a standard motor? Make sure you have good earths and cabling.

I had a powerlite one on my metro and it was knackered after less than 2 years and 2000 miles as it had gone rusty on the inside . I was very disappointed with it and it would have cost as much to repair as a new powerlite one so I just got a bog standard one off ebay.

I bought this In person from Electrostart in Daventry (https://electrostart.co.uk/)


It's the same as the one I've been running on my 260z for a few years.
I think they said it's from an Urvan.
But those numbers find many likely looking candidates on eBay if you're so inclined.

You can get high torque 280zx-type starters from Rockauto new for 100 quid (plus shipping). That kind of stuff in the link above is pretty much a waste of money IMO.

As Richie said, buy from Rock-Auto : why pay more for less quality ?
