Can you really tell the difference between chrome and S/S?

Although stainless marks quite badly, you can get them re-polished to look new again. Not sure how much this would cost but at least they should last a lifetime. Does anyone know if they do the SS one with no holes in so you can use them without the rubbers?

When you order, you can have the choice - with or without rubbers. I presume that if you opted for bumpers without rubbers, they would not have the holes - that is what their website says. Best to e-mail them first and ask the question to be safe.

If anyone does place an order and would like to split shipping let me know. I'm currently contemplating what to do as I have 2 front bumpers but they definitely need re-chroming, at that price it may be cheaper to buy the full set brand new.

That's the trouble Geoff, to get re chromed well will be as much as new.

I'm probably going custom bumpers painted as I liketo be different.

Have now fitted my Group Harrington stainless steel bumpers and they look fab. You can't tell the difference from the chrome but they are a lot cheaper and I got all the rubber strips and fittings with them.

Time will tell if they scratch up but I don't intend taking the car through hedges etc to find out.

We have electricity, running water, gas, roads, the wheel, the internal combustion engines and the magic of flight etc etc..Some of us have Z cars up here as well. To a Yorkshire fellow I am getting a bit sick of ooop nooorth comments.. maybe you daaaann sauf think its great poking comments at we seemingly simple folk who live beyond the watford gap.
We live in the same f@@king country!!! so stow the northerner comments or I will set my ferret on you!

Saw these bad boys in the flesh at Japfest and I have to say, they look awesome!!! Unless you have Albrecht levels of keen eyedness, it's almost impossible to tell the difference from the originals!!

Really they should go better with the rest of the shiny bits on the car than the chrome ones seeing as everything else is stainless!

Are they heavier than the original steel jobbies though?

Without putting both on scales, I couldn't tell the difference. Possibly, as a rough estimate, I would say the stainless ones are a shade lighter.

Try 'Muscle Car Parts Australia' look on their Web site, he has rear lights as well, I bought a set of chrome bumpers from him and a pair of lights, the bumpers don't have the black bump strip holes so you would have to drill them. He's a nice guy, a good exchange rate, quick postage.

Good to know they're no heavier as the originals are pretty weighty at around 10kg each! However, after reading pmac's post about Harrington Group I would be loathed to fork out what is not an inconsiderable amount of cash to people like that.

Thanks for the link -- these look interesting, what type of shipping was it and could you give a rough idea how much it was to ship these over? Half tempted to go for painted and just respray them the same metallic grey colour as my bolt-on arches; though I prefer chrome, they'd be cheaper and easier to look after!
