antifreeze

They're all basically the same(ethylene glycol base for the antifreeze action)as previously posted except you pay more for the longer lasting types because they have a longer lasting more active?additive package.Be wary of mixing the different sorts due to incompatibility issues,do a flush(beware changing if its an in warranty car).Meself i use bluecol or carplan blue antifreeze changed every 2 years, the others ie oat, hoat blah blah are supposed to last 5 years or so and cost more initially, take your pick.Links,,,Engine Oils | Car Fluids | Car Engine Oils | Car Lubricants and Antifreeze Facts

its a standard 260. its off the road during winter but ive heard its still needed to stop the cylinder head from corroding.

Are you asking if you should store it without antifreeze in the engine coolant?,if so then definitely add antifreeze(any brand of those shown in link, full flush?) to prevent freeze cracking/corrosion.May as well go 50/50 mix or more if storing, then replace/dilute as recommended for our climate when time comes to use car again. You could drain the cooling system but you will still have moisture/condensation left in the engine that may still allow corrosion. My two pennies worth:).
