I've got some 14" Watanabe's, just need to sell the new 15" rotas!
Was it them 8 1/5. Inch ones that were on eBay that were about -13 offset as they looked quite aggressive
Hi, nope, mine are 14x7.5 and 14x8. 8.5 would be far too difficult to get rubber for!
Even with 8"s, you will have limited tyre choice, especially performance ones.
I know, however you can get good trackday rubber...
Decent road rubber is sportrac 5 or the uni royal rainsport which work well on sub 1200kg cars.
Its bad but I really wanted 14J wheels
Even on the sportrac 5 or uniroyals, I doubt you will get anything wider than a 195 section? Haven't seen decent 205-60-14's in ages.
Track day stuff, yes but not road legal.
So you may have to stretch
195's will barely look like a stretch on a 8J I think. Even if it is it'll be minor, the 60 profile should help hide it?
Nope it will will evident.
Welcome to the dark side
I've got 205/60/14 Nankang NS2s (on 14x6 rims). I think they're alright for very little money.
But there really didn't seem anything else.
It seemed within reason according to the carbible calculator http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg4.html but yes. However, the circumference is still less than stock and the sump touches the road on the hill up from my house if I'm not careful.thats quite wide for a 6j wheel? they do get a good write up.
they do get a good write up.
Unless you are going for a bored out 250bhp L series, then I reckon the Nankangs will do the job just fine as a street\daily driver tyre.
205 section will sit better on the 8J wheel.
What's that diff out of Franky?
