Hi,

Nosing through Z31.com I bumped into 200ZRs and 300ZRs.

I found that the 300ZR uses the twin cam NA engine found in the Z32 right (VG30DE v6 twin cam, N/A)?

I did a forum search and found

So I have some questions

1) Can a normal UK Z31 facelift be converted to a ZR without too much drama?

2) Can you buy 300ZRs any sense?

3) Can you even buy the 2 seater quad cam version anywhere? Sounds awesome. What bhp did it make stock?? Is it really much better?

4) What is the engine name of the quad cam version out of interest??

Sounds cool though, on my travels I was looking at drift mobiles and this one sounds about the best.

Another two to add to dream stable...

1) not drama - expense ! Parts including engine must come from Japan !
2) Yes, in Japan !
3) 180 bhp before any after market mods

Keep on dreaming !

"Just to confuse the matter, whereas the 200ZR used a turbocharged 180bhp RB20 straight six engine, some other '200' model Z31's used the 170bhp VG20ET V6 tubocharged 2 litre engine!"
The 300ZR facelift model had a normally aspirated twin cam 24v VG30DE engine producing 190bhp!
These were all Japanese market cars and you would have to source them from there...unless Chris Theo wants to sell his!;)

At the end of the day it would be cheaper to import a 300ZR from Japan, via an importer!

Sean: Thanks. And I have plenty of dreams, I have a txt file listing cars to own, its on about 73 at the moment :D Really sucks that I'm only on two at the moment and neither of them are on the list...

Jez: Thats the website I bumped into thanks :) You're right about the importing and probably end up with a better car. Is JDM Z31 facelift on par with the UK one?

So has anyone heard of the quad cam Mr.F mentioned or was it an uncharacterstic error on his part?

I think I'll have to learn Japanese one day (or rather ten years), I'm missing out on too much

Hi,
When I said twincam, I meant two per banks as in quadcam v6!:D
They basically ran the 190hp VG30DE engine in the Z31 for a couple of years before it appeared in the Z32 in NA 230hp and VG30DETT 280hp+ forms.

Hi there was a 200zr for sale on ebay the other week in white in very good condition in wales quite cheap if i remember :) :)
