Zeds on TV this week

I hope those of you with Sky are keeping an eye on Men and Motors at the moment - last night was the first episode of the 100 Most Popular Cars ... Ever series (presented by John Inverdale), which is running on consecutive nights, the top 20 being on Sunday night at 8pm.

The 350Z was featured last night in the 100-81 slot (it was somewhere in the 80s I think). The 240Z got a couple of mentions during the show - one of the motoring journalists featured said that his favourite toy car as a child was his 240Z!! I also noticed that in the studio set, which features plinths with a variety of models, was one of the 1:18 models of a green 240Z.

Of course, the best reason to watch the series is that (hopefully in the top 20 programme on Sunday) I'm going to be on it with my 240Z (before its roof was ''remodelled'' of course!) :D

If the rumours we've heard are true and the poll reflects the one conducted a few months ago where the 240 was second (next to the Golf GTI), the Zed is placed quite highly. Should be some well deserved attention anyway!!!

If you missed last night's episode, it is repeated at 8 tonight, followed by 80-61 at 9. Fri-Sat-Sun times are 9pm, 8pm and 8pm. (Just hope they don't make me look like an arse!!)

Richie, for those of us without sky can you please record it ? Would be very easy to transfer to DVD afterwards.

Many Thanks

Well - the 240Z was just featured in tonight's episode!! Not quite as high as we had hoped but it got its screen time and lots of nice words from the motor journalist bods - including Chris Goffey, formerly of Top Gear. No sarcasm, just admiration!

The 240z was #69 - they showed some of the background footage of my car and a brief shot of me talking about what I liked about the driving experience of the Zed. So, that was my minute of fame!!

qunvat - the episode is repeated tonight at 8pm.

ZHead - I forgot - the series is supposed to be available to buy on DVD in the new year anyway. I have taped it though.

Albrecht - watch it!! :D I wouldn't have exactly classed the guys who filmed it as car experts - they certainly didn't get into filming the S30 serial no.!!

Incidentally, on that subject, are there any good written resources on the JDM Fairlady that you would recommend?
