Hello Chaps.
I have taken the wiper motor out of the 73 240 and carefully opened the bag. I peeked in and looked at the motor. It all looked nice and clean... until I got it out. The top of the motor is all nice and new, but the bottom half was a rusty lump. obviously the bag had leaked at some point and the motor had been sat in a puddle of water.
I took it apart and cleaned all the crap out of it and spent some time getting rid of the rust on the armature and magnets. I think I have salvaged it.. but the small springs that are in the bush housings have disolved away.. I actually need just one.. so if anyone has a scrap motor that they can let me have or know if I can get bushes and springs then please let me know.
Flaps. I dont expect to get the Z off the ground but I will be needing a set of inspection flaps. I pulled mine out of storage and they are too far gone to salvage.
PMAC if you have a set can you let me know.
Other than that. I have sorted out all the wiring issues and I am about to get the dashboard back in after a lot of work on guages. The PO had shot blasted the car at some point and all the guages were full of sand and dust.
I think the beasty may move again under it's own power in a few weeks and then its time to get the bodywork done and get her painted..
