Wheel Size

Ok people what is the correct wheel & tyre size for the 280zx & what size wheel & tyre can you go to as an upgrade, pcd etc ???????

280ZX models have been fitted with:

Denovo Denlocs - metric wheel, no tyres now available to fit - forget they ever existed.
Iron Cross style 5.5" x 14"
Later 6-spoke design 6" x 14"

Standard recommended tyre sizes are 195-70 14 or 205-70 14
As a fatter upgrade, a 225-60 14 would have more or less the same rolling circumferance as the 195-70, but would be a bit "fat" on a 5.5" rim.

All 4 stud Z and ZX models have the same 4.5" or 114.5mm PCD which is shared by very few other cars - from memory, Triumph Stag, Reliant Scimitar GTE, Mustang II, early Toyota Supra..........hence lack of modern wheels suitable!

.......and even earlier Celica rear drive models.

Also rear drive Toyota Corrolla and MGB GT's.

Have a look at Brian Kestertons gold 280ZX at Billing this year. It sits very nicely on a set of 7"x 14 Woolfrace mags with 205 70 x14 tyres.(Well I think it looks nice, but I know not everyone shares that opinion!)
Perhaps I might just mention that I have a set for sale!!

I agree, a set of 7"x 14" Wolfies would look ace with that tyre combo.

Oh, I also have a set for sale.

ha ha ;) :p

sorry to tag along at the end, you say it takes same wheels as scimitar

does it take same wheel pattern as 70's fords, ie capri, RWD escort, etc? I think they are same as scimitar?

and so peugeot also fit?

i remember seeing one 240/260 on a track day at goodwood many years ago it had lotus eclat alloys

i also have a set of woolfies for sale complete with
(new original nuts)
they need refurb and new centres / can get those

...o0h yes and I have a set of brand new tyres (205 x 70 x 14's) fer sale too!!

Simon.

I,ve got the original 280zx alloy's,a perfect match to Simon's Tyre's both available along with aforementioned Wolfie's.
