What condition 240 can be found for...

Hey all,

well my car is going up for sale soonish, I'm jumping the gun a bit again but I will have about £3k to spend straight away or I can wait a while and have more.

Basically most of you know that I'm looking for a car to turn into a hybrid z. I don't think I'll get insured on a V8 for a while so for the time being it needs to run very well on its normal engine but of course I can fit the tricked up suspension and brakes and do all my lovely interior.

Bearing this in mind what can I get for around £3k up to maybe £5k? I don't see the point in spending more than £5k because after that I think the Z will be too nice to deserve my engine swap etc. I will need this car to get to work in so it needs to be ok.

I might end up buying something else as well. Hmmm what can be had that's not embarassing for under a grand I wonder?

Anyway if you know of a Z that will be available come end of May maybe or want to buy a much loved 306 let me know <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
 
Bah maybe I should keep my 306 as the daily driver and just work on the Z full time and spend less money? Then I can sell the 306 when the Z is ready and buy a motorbike or put the money towards a caterham or something sensible?

Why I post these ramblings for others to read I don't know but sometimes it helps.

You have just missed a 240Z that was sold for £2500 - £2700.
Taxed and tested and drive away. It was OK in most areas. not brilliant but useable. Probably the right basis for your project. &nbsp;So keep a lookout in Autotrader &nbsp;etc. There is the odd one that comes up for sale. remember my earlier advice to you. &nbsp;PS &nbsp;have the cash ready BEFORE you go looking. <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

Yeh that car sounded ideal. If the right car came up any time from now on I could get the money some how. I would sooner not have to travel more than 200 miles to go see if I can help it.

That money sounds about right though, I shall keep my eyes open. We should organise a UK map of where members are so if say I found a car in Liverpool I'd know who I might be able to ring to take a look at it for petrol and beer money.

I just have to post now about nothing because I'm itching. ARGH today I was on my driveway and I could imagine it parked there, oh dear I think I may end up like you lot <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>
