Webers need cold air

At tune up (AVA glasgow) they fired a cold air feed directly at the webers and got another 15BHP. They suggested doing something like run ducting pipe to front of car and point the other end at the webers so I get this on the road. Anyone else added an air feed?

Bear in mind that if a car is on a rolling road for tune up, it is stationary. During driving, cold air is entering the front of the car via the grill.
I was thinking about a Ram Air effect type box with duct poking through the front grill with filter, but after a chat with Dave Jarman about this I wasn't convinced of any benefit.
With the L series being non-crossflow, it's probably better to consider insulating the exhaust header to keep the heat away from the carbs.
Another idea would be to have a fuel cooler installed like on Big Sam. I doubt if a stock fuel pump would cope with the extra flow restriction though. One concern would be the amount of fuel leakage if you ever front ended the car (assuming of course, if the cooler was in front of the rad&#39<img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>.
