Topless 260Z

Can anyone help me? approx. 15 years ago I owned a 260 Z  that was an mot failure. With time on my hands and a friend who was a coachbuilder, I commited the ultimate sin; I chopped the roof off ala Fiat X19. It was a complicated proceedure and one which would have ended with a stunning looking vehicle had I not needed to sell it before the cosmetics were finished. The roof lifted out and was trimmed with black vynil, to reveal a single strengthener going across to ensure integrity. It was sold as an mot failure with allsorts of potential re registering problems for the new owner with DVLA. I would love to know if anyone has seen it, owns it, or knows what happened to it.
I sold it in Brentwood in Essex and its Reg was MJX 19T.
I would love to know what eventually happened to it. If any one can help it would make an old man very happy.
Thanks in anticipation.

Not a convertible, more of a targa - I remember it being in the Basildon area probably ten years ago or more, but no sighting of it since! I'm sort of remembering it being repaired and/or painted at Laindon Panelcraft near my old address, but they are now long gone....

It was a deep burgandy plummy kind of colour with an 18" wide removable section very similar to the 280 targa but all one piece from side to side.
It was Basildon, because that is were I had a flat and garage near to the PowerHouse on the corner of Timberlog Lane.   Brentwood was the "murder scene". I drove it very happily for 3 or 4 years prior to its sad demise into obscurity. If it is still around I would like to buy it back and repay it with some TLC, if it can be traced.

I can remember making some calls about cables and wiring within the roof section to a Z club member who lived in or around Laindon. I must confess he did try to talk me out of it at the time.

I actually have a couple of pictures somewhere at home taken at the point when the roof was being cut out with an angle grinder(scary)and prior to the support being fitted I will try and locate and post them, it may jog someones grey matter. Thanks for taking the time out and replying Guys, it restores my faith in mankind that there are people willing to put themselves out for others.

Hi
I tried getting a car insurance quote from Tesco.com for an imaginery car with your reg No MJX 19T
I got a quote back and it said the car was a 260Z !!!
So I assume that your old 260z is still registered with that number and out there some where since it is still registered and likely not scrapped ?

That, is very interesting. This means that my work of art is still around somewhere. Thanks Paul.

The mystery deepens!
