The latest (2001) figures for Z models reistered at some point during the year are:

240Z 152
260Z 157

Whilst 240Zs remain more or less static (-2), the 260Z numbers have fallen by 60! Bet these are mostly the unloved and uncared for 2+2......
 
We need to turn the Z club into a money making business that can afford to buy up these unloved Zeds, restore them, and stick em in a museum come car club where they can be rented for the weekend by the general public...

Or maybe I should get on with revision.
 
Good idea.Thats exactly what the Jenson club do,they restored one for club members to use for the weekend.
 
SMMT is the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. The figures represent cars which had a road fund licence at some time during the period covered. Figures for 2002 onwards may include those cars with a SORN (statutory off-road notice) declared (like my own 280ZX). For earlier years we have no way of knowing how many cars are in major restoration or just "resting" for a while.......until they reappear and hugely inflate the figures again.
