Thats how I set my float levels, (with clear tube to monitor levels) much more accurate than just bending and trial and error.
Just balance my carbs last night, front carb was a bit out, replaced dashpot oil and lubricated linkages then set with airflow meter and now spot on, nice to see carbs rise and fall exactly in time and you can actually here when they are set right, it sounds almost like injectors! suspect this is the air in the balance tube making this noise?
