One of the probs with ebay

Trying it on he may be, but £6100! Should please most of us with classic Z's or is it just a glitch with the current interest with Z's. The forum would indicate a lot more people out there would like one. As I have said before demand dictates price.

I think you missed the point Nigel. The winning bidder would appear to be a bit of a time waster given his -2 rating. Looking at the bidding history the last valid looking price was £327 slightly more reasonable for a shell and engine. Bit of a shame for the seller to be messed about like that though.

Cheers,
Rob

Not to worry, I do believe the seller of the car uses this forum anyway
Sure he will tell us how it turns out :)

my guess is that the seller got his mates to bid in a vain attempt to push the price up and failed!

Nice one Wyn , and thank you for bringing it to the forum's attention. I had heard about this type of activity but had never seen any examples. As you say two crooks trying to outdo each other in the dishonesty stakes.
I hope all forum members who use ebay have a look at this and LEARN.
It would also be good to hear from the seller about his side of the tale to let us see what sort of info he had from these morons.

Well, let's face it, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to create a fake account and use it to boost the bidding for something. If (as a bidder) you don't want to get ripped off, you have to have an idea what the item is worth that you're interested in, and not bid any more than you're prepared to pay!

And if you do get a mate to boost a bid, tell him that a factor of twenty is a bit excessive!

Not for one moment that I'm suggesting that anyone on here would do such a thing. It looks to me like somebody playing silly buggers and wasting the seller's time.
