Number plates

Finally got my registration mark for my car a 'J' reg, now I just need some number plates. Does anyone know of a good supplier for the pressed aluminium silver on black plates?

Also what size are they? the car currently doesn't have any plates on it to measure. I could make a few templates out of card to get a idea, but is there an 'official' size?

cheers all!

Thanks Mike,

will give them a ring, now does anyone know what size to ask for, or are there only 'set' sizes I could get?

There is only one road legal size that I'm aware of, unless you want the squared number plates (4 letters on top and 3 underneath like motorbikes). AFAIK by law all vehicles must display one of these two, unless you have a trails motorbike and your allowed small plates on these by law

The number plate company will obviously know the sizes and you probably wont have to even mention it

The information about Japanese number plate sizes being allowed with smaller digits needs more publicity! Everyone with an import should follow Gio's link.

So, if you have a pre-73 240Z, the front plate can be smaller than that which is normally required providing it's easy to read.

Didn't know that. Shame I have a '78 car, the front plate has always bugged me and it restricts air flow.
