Why are wolf race wheels "the best"?
Are all the z's two seaters? If not are the 280z's two seaters?

No doubt I'll have more questions in the future <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Ok I'm not that great with older cars (yet <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> ) but here is my understanding and I look forward to correction <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

2+2, i.e. instead of a 2+0 or 2 seater, its the seat configuration, its not a 4 seater because the back seats (the +2 bit) are really only occasional seats because they are a bit cramped <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

240z - 2 seater only
260z - 2 seater and 2+2, the 2+2 being slightly longer with a different rear 3/4.

taga, do you mean targa? Targa tops are hard roofs that unclip to make it a bit like a convertible, the 300zx has these, if you've ever seen the fast and the furious the orange supra has one, when he pops the roof off when chasing the lorry, thats the targa top.

Su carbs, I think these are venturi carbs, i.e. they have a dash pot on the top, they are quite an old design I think. I can't tell you any more and I'm probably wrong <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

Wolf race wheels, well tbh they aren't technically the best, but they suit the car and were available at the time, I dont think much of the modern wolf race wheels, maybe they were a factory option?

Thats my little help if it is at all, I await correction and people giving better explanations <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> Its good fun learning.

Also, the 280Z is not a UK model (but came in 2str and 2+2 like the 260Z and with a similar body shape). We had the 280ZX from 1978 which came in 2 str. and 2+2 and with the option of targa roof on the 2+2. The UK market never had 2str Targa, but they were available elsewhere.

Wolfrace wheels are definitely not the best these days unless you have a complete and pristine set with all nuts, washers and caps intact. All of these parts are hard to source now. The Wolfrace was probably one of about three designs available in the right PCD and offset back in the '70s, so they got fitted to a lot of 240Zs and 260Zs and "handed down" over the years. Other period designs were the Revolution 4 and 5 spoke and Midland Metallic as fitted to early Samuri (sic)conversions.

S.U. is a good old-fashioned British company who have been making carbs. since time immemorial. The 240Z had Hitachi carbs. which were an SU design made under licence. The only interchangeable parts are the needles, but other S.U. carbs. will fit the Z manifold. 1 3/4" throat is standard and 2" throat is a useful performance upgrade (in conjunction with other mods). The 260Z had an emissions carb. which worked on the S.U. principle, but had lost the plot as far as performance was concerned - raise the water level of your nearest canal with these.

Ok I'm learning... <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> So is this a 280zx with a targa top?

USA spec, 2 seater targa top 280ZX with '79 - '81 features. This is the model that the U.K. market was denied, but available as RHD as a Japan home market import (if they have any left out there). I have a customer's car stored here which is also this model - in silver, LHD, early Texan car with '82 - '83 bumpers, bonnet and lights, blue leather and Fourways modified engine. Possibly for sale by the owner if a substantial offer were forthcoming.
