Modifying G/Box Mounts

I’m sure this must have been done before.

The std gearbox mount on my 240z has two pressed in rubber bushes either side aswell as a central rubber mounting.

If I replace those two (Circled) outer bushes with solid mounts i.e do away with them altogether, will I get excessive vibration through the car?

Will the central mount be sufficient?

The circled mounts are available in a urethane kit for the intermediate compromise (in stock....£10 + VAT).

Was thinking of doing away with those mounts as my G/Box xmember needs cutting and shutting, and I don’t think the org ones will stand the heat lol ?

I assume they will come with a metal inner bush?

£10 + VAT IS for two! Each bush in two halves to push in from each end and two metal inner sleeves. I'll book a set out for you!

You can buy an uprated mount (the big one) for around £150

Zedhead260, unfrot that aftermarket mount wouldn't be no use for me atm, unless I also cut it up to shape it boomerang fashion lol
