LHD RHD 260z 280z donor cars

Am i right in thinking that a rhd 260z could be a donor not only for a lhd 260z but also the 280z? I ask because I think i can lay my hands on a non running rotting rhd 260z and want to know if i could use it as a donor to convert a lhd 280z. Not that i have a lhd 280z or 260z atm. I'm just thinking ahead

Ideally avoid a 1973 / 1974 260Z - some minor differences might be overcome, but a later shell (77/78 only in UK) would be easier.

its more involved than you think........
The answer will depend on the year of the donor and the year of the US converter car.


Im not entirely sure I understand or agree with what Mr F has said

a 74 UK 260 will be a good donor for the corresponding one year model US 260.
It will also do for converting a 75 US 280Z.
And to my mind wont be any harder than using a 77/78 UK 260Z to convert a US 77/78 280Z
I may be missing something of course

Hmmmm it's getting complicated
Well I think i'll try get my hands on it anyway and save it from more years of rotting away and hopefully it can become a donor for someone's build
