exhaust manifold

well my standard manifold has cracked ! what a pain , been offered another standard cast one but as the rest is an as new Janspeed system would be great to get a matching manifold , so anyone got one sat about that they wanna sell , long shot i know .

Well found a decent second hand stainless tubular manifold, fitted up well, only concern is the water outlets are now real close to the top of the top of each header, front and back of the engine.
People must have had this problem before, in the morning i am gonna try and get some angled unions for the inlet manifold water outlets or cut and weld my current ones.
Is this a normal problem. Just a thought

the solution is 1983 nissan sunny inlet manifold unions if anybody wanted to know .

Gah! just found a crack in my manifold too - janspeed. couldn't we just get it welded and then heat wrapped (instead of buying a new manifold)?

Heat wrapping is bad news, it'll rot through in no time. Add to the fact i'm not that sold on the need to

I thought it'd help shield heat away from the engine, no?

All it'll help is your steel manifold rot by holding moisture, help it crack by moving heat away to form hot spots.

I wouldn't worry about the heat, its not a race engine you've got
