I have a poorly Volvo, its a carb B2300K engined one thats not running right. I know its not a zed, but hopefully you guys have more experience with Carb engines than I do.

Symptoms. Start Car everything is fine, runs fine for about 10 mins if you can rev it up and it goes back to idle fine. After about 10 mins if you rev it it just idles lumpy then dies after. The restart and she idles rough and dies again.

Its all started when i decided to give it some welly on the M32, she reved fine and went pretty well for a tank, but then things went south, mass loss of power foot to floor and car was sorta kangarooing, foot off accelerator car slowely dies. Pulled over restarted and everything was fine, but then i took her upto 3000rpm and that same problems happened. Got her home by not going above 3000 rpm where she sits.

PS She only had a small amount a fuel in her also.

Any idea's? Fuel Pump?

Have you tried cleaning the carb with carb cleaner and changing your fuel filter? Just an idea since if it was running low nasty sediment could have clogged your fuel filter up and possibly found its way into the carb.

Cleaned the carb by spraying half a can on the outside and then suirting some into it with engine running, didnd change the fuel filet, noticed an inline one was looking rather yellow. Its my Brother in laws car i managed to pick up for £12 on ebay lol apart from this problem the rest of the car is fine :)

Automatic choke staying on and making the engine run rich when warm?
Small particle blocking a carb jet?

Being a bit of an old girl, is she fitted with a condensor in the distributor, when starts to fail when hot, or could just be loose, which causes an intermitant earth, and thus spluttering, loss of power.
