I guess from the HUGE response Mike that it will only be your little bunch of regulars that are attending. then there's me!!
A newbie! That should give you all something to smile(laugh?) about!

260's off the road for a few days as my brake repairs are taking longer than expected. She failed the MOT on a leaking rear cylinder and replacing it has turned into the usual sorry story of old parts not wanting to come apart and having to be replaced. Am now learning how to shape & flare brake lines as every junction was corroded solid. Still, it gives me an excuse to fit my braided lines! I just have to work out how the heck to get at the pipe junction above the moustache bar...

Hi,
So what happened on Monday?....Did anyone manage to time their car, or was it rained off?

Extreme rain for most of the day, but the Santa Pod crew did a superb job of mopping up and track prep so that the faithful few could have almost unlimited track time during the last couple of hours in the afternoon.

Andy Pigden was happy to be back in the thirteens with his 300ZXTT (consistent 13.8s) and A.N.Other was less than happy to be slightly slower than some of the VW camper vans (loaded with camping gear, oven, bedding, full sewage tank etc.) in his Z31 turbo. Diagnosed as an inoperative turbo, it is being fixed as we speak. Welcome to John Palmer as a spectator, soon to be 240Z competitor.......

A Swedish Pro Mod team made two three-quarter passes in a high spec '68 Camaro - 7.4 and 7.1 pulling the 'chutes before the finish line! A much improved FireForce 2 jet Funny Car ran 6.2 to 247 mph at the end of the afternoon, dislodging false teeth and setting off a hundred car alarms in the process (afterburners are pretty loud at ground level!).

Hi,
Was A.N. Other's turbo always inoperative?...or just on the day, as you definitely know when the turbo's kicking in!
On my Z31 turbo, you get pressed back in your seat and have to hang on to the steering wheel for dear life!:D

I don't know of any Zs with operating turbos that run 20 second quarters.............he will be shocked at how lively a 300ZX turbo Z31 can be when working well! I think knocking five seconds off a quarter mile time will grab his attention!

Well A N Other has had his turbo swapped for one that isnt seized solid. And this Sunday 23 May is round 3 of the drag challenge.
So hopefully it will be "seconds out for round three" as the say in boxing parlance!
Perhaps that should be "seconds less for round three"???
W T F. Just get out of bed on Sunday and turn up at Santa Pod like me and you will find out.
Let the f....ng grass grow on your lawn another half inch, and just promise to cut it NEXT week. Oh BTW, tell all the rest of your household that Ikea is shut for stocktaking so you cant go there.

Hi,
I would have liked to take my Z31 along too, but I've got to work at the NEC this weekend at the "BBC Good Homes Show":( ....As for my lawn, I've just laid some new turf, so can't cut it for a few weeks!:D
