Hi,
They're a great idea, but very costly!...I thought they would be about £150-200 max:eek:

price wise i think you would be about right, as they say, its only the proffit....etc.....gimme me jack n stands back any day!

Looks nice but not much ground clearance to work under the car.

I saw an advert for some ramps which had a jack built in and therefore allow the car to be lifted higher.. Cant remember the name of them, but they looked good too.

Hmm, they don't really look too high to me either, about the same as regular car ramps, no doubt a lot easier to drive up on to though, reversing on to car ramps with wet tyres is a skill I've never quite mastered ;)

Slightly more robust models can be found here, for slightly more robust prices:

Hi,
I like the optional "comfort seat" for the car lift!:D....

I will have to add these car ramp sites to the Links section.

JeZ, i liked that ramp until I saw what Rob posted. Look brilliant, still £1000 is a bit out of my budget for ramps too! :(

Hi,
The only problem with the larger ramps is where do you store them when not in use?....Wife has already complained about the spare set of wheels in the garden, under the barbeque cover!;)

Is my thinking right on this, to raise the Hamer lift you have to do each corner individually, or magic up 3 assistants, seems a bit mad for sure!

Wonder how much it would cost in raw materials to make a seesaw type ramp thing?

Cheers,
Rob

Much appreciated offer George :D

Jez, if there's a little crappy Saxo type thing on the ramps too, could you pocket that as my girlfriend is after a useless mini car thing ;)

Cheers,
Rob

Have been working under car recently doing handbrake for MOT. Believe me, working on a rod that's ABOVE the driveshaft when you only have axle stands and no room to wave your arms about is a freakin' nightmare.

SO... I'd love a decent car lift.

However, cost prohibits, so I may well go the other way... and DIG A PIT!
