I am a new owner of 300 and have black leather seats. The leather is reasonably supple (is that spelt rite..!!&#33 but has a few crack lines. Has anyone restored their seats, know the ups and downs, What products work, and don't. Also what should I use for generally maintenance of the seats.

Hi steevo, how you do`in ,good night the other night!,,,,thanks for the beer ,i`ll ring you .Now then ,,,about these seats , i use a cream,( it stings a bit but it don`t alf make it soft) not a cleaner as such and work it into the leather this keeps it soft , mine was very hard when i,,,,,,bought the car but now seems to be getting softer the more i rub it with the cream .

John, It was a good night, pity we wos the only 300's there. Your turn to buy the beers next time...!!!! Thats when I use the special gallon bottles...!!! only joking What make of cream are you using and where did you get it? My car's in for a service at present, got a leaking pipe on the steering system, no wonder it was noisy...!!! also had a leak on a fuel pipe, thought it was rubbish mileage and not just my driving. Should be on the road next week, I flipping hope so, driving a micra is just not cool for my image....!!!

A leak in the power steering pipe would account for it, still least its be`in sorted ,as for the cream i use i think its from auto glym , i`ll have a look, but to be honest anything that puts the goodness back into the leather would be ok .Some of the so called leather cleaners i was told seal it up with silicone etc not good apparently, i know some one who uses a bees wax and then buffs it up, says it keeps it well supple ,he even used black boot polish where the leather had worn a bit ,said it darken it and did not stand out so much ,any way try Marparts in Caversham opp Whiteknights estate agents or good old Halfords. The best thing about Marparts is the guys have tried most of the products on there own cars, so they usually know what works.Tell us when your Z back we`ll arrange a meet....

Hi,
I used to use a leather domestic sofa moisturiser which contains bees wax.You can buy it from Tescos. It makes the leather much more supple.
Autoglym do a product for cleaning your leather seats too.
If you have cracks that need colouring in, then leather shoe scuff cover does the job very well.

For my leather seats I use the following :

Leather Cleaner
Neet's Foot Oil (same stuff that is used on saddles)
Then shoe scuff just to hide the small scuffs a bit more.

The seats are in excellent condition, very supple and you get that "new car" smell too!
