Can any one help Kevin Bristow and the Stroke Association?

This Saturday the 1st Oct Kevin Bristow, of Historic Rally fame, is giving up his time, effort and car to help out the Stroke Association.

There is a charity event at Castle Combe, which gives members of the public an opportunity to ride in a variety of historic rally and performance cars in exchange for a donation to the Stroke Association. Apart from Kevin in his 240Z there will be the likes of Simon Taylor in his Lister road car, Duncan Pittaway’s 1920 Maserati, Nick Faure’s Porsche as well as numerous Ferraris, Alfas, Caterham and the list goes on. There is also the chance to ride in some of the more modern racecars with their drivers.

Kevin is putting his 240Z up and will cover the costs of wear and tear as well as all the fuel. He has been able to arrange sponsorship from Yokohama tyres but they are only selling him the tyres at half price so he needs to raise another £250 – can anyone help?

You will receive full credit for your sponsorship and you can plaster your or your companys’ name all over his car. He is not expecting anyone to cough up the whole amount and would be more than grateful to receive any donation large or small.

If anyone can help Kevin please get in touch with me ASAP

They provide a helpline (0845 3033100) and forum as well as regional centres. Please go to their web site for further information.

MJP (Eastern Auto) are pleased to announce that their sponsorship of Kevin and his rally car continue for this event. Look for the MJP logo on display and get out there to give him your support!

Can anyone else help?
This event is this Saturday so we are running out of time for getting your logo on Kevins car, let me know.

Also go along and support a great charity and what is an excellent day out, Say hi to Kevin while you are there and get him to take you around Castle Combe circuit as only he can!

I went to the Combe for the stroke day as I usually do, not one Ferrari, no Maserati or Simon Taylor. No Alfas either. I did however go out in my favourite race car a Radical with the 1500 cc Hyabusa motor, awesome. . Going up the rise into Quarry corner in a 1300 cc Radical at 120 mph, in the 1500 cc 135 mph fantastic. Glad I hadnt had breakfast before the ride as the G forces are amazing.

I have contacted the organiser of this event with view to having a Z Club car stand at next years event, would anyone be interested in coming along, putting your car on display (not looking for concours here!) and general supporting Kevin and the event?

Probably same-ish as this year, so mid Sept, When I have found out more I'll let you know
