Brake options

What are my options on my brakes (73 240Z) ?
I have fitted new braided lines, flushed the system and refilled with higher spec synthetic fluid.
checked all of the seals pistons, cylinders and fittings (new copper throughout)

The discs are looking a little grooved though and I still get a bit of wobble under moderate to hard prolonged braking

so

Can I fit vented discs without changing the calipers.
Are spacers available if vented an option
Or do I just get new discs

Dont really want to go to the extream of the 4 pot mod

Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi you cant use vented discs with standard calipers but you can use 300zx with spacers I think ( I'm sure someone will put me right ) may have problems with wheel clearence,I carried out the 4 pot Toyota upgrade which cost me about £90 including postage from a braker it has made the pedal alot firmer and the brakes better,if your discs are grooved and you have brake judder you will have to change your discs and pads as a set them run them in nice and easy for about 100 miles without heavy braking.

Hope this helps

300ZX a bit of an unknown quantity - you may be thinking of the 280ZX ventilated disc conversion which is hardly worth the effort as all you get is a single piston sliding caliper. Same with early 300ZX Z31. If you want to get involved with Z31, then try the later calipers.

Anyone out there done this conversion? I'm not familiar with it.

Check the judder isn't uneven tyre wear as well. The Toyota conversion is a good long term improver for relatively little money.

Thanks guys

No the judder is definitely brakes (tyres are absolutely perfect and the wheel tyre combos in good balance)

The discs are definitely well worn with typical long term wear groves on them (one side more pronounced than the other.

Whats the cost of standard discs new verses the possible cost of the Toyota 4 pot mod ??
