OK we did this last year from the 300zx club and had a great time. So why not make it an interclub event this time round?
Basically we will drive through the 'strip' in Blackpool during the illumnations on the Saturday evening of 18th October
If you never saw Blackpool illuminations it's a sight well worth seeing - and with so many classic car clubs doing the illuminations run these days it's also a great place to come and see and be seen!
This is most certainly the last chance to come out and play in your Zed before the onset of winter as well so what better excuse?
The date this year is Saturday 18th October
The plan is to meet at the Blackpool Premier Inn at Yeadon Way, near the South Shore - just a few hundred yards from the South Pier
http://www.premierinn.com/en/hotel/BLAYEA/blackpool-beach
This has a large secure (24hr manned) and free (if you are staying at the hotel) car park, and importantly no speed bumps!
Also this means that we can start the run through the illuminations from near the South Pier rather than having to queue for several miles from the North Shore like we did last year
I would suggest we do the run a lot earlier this time (say 7pm?) and instead of trying to run all the way to Bispham we run up to the big roundabout a mile or so after the North Pier and turn back round there and come back down again
This means we will be mostly in the busiest part of the resort therefore more folks to admire our cars lol
After party will be at the Harvester pub which is attached to the hotel
So who is up for it this time round then?
And would you like to stay at the Premier Inn for one or two nights or just come up on the evening?
If there is enough staying on the Friday night we could do a mini-illuminations run then too just for the fun of it (it's much quieter on the Fri evening)
Bear in mind this weekend is the start of the half-term holidays so the resort will be extremely busy. however this means accommodation is a bit scarce and a bit pricy too - so if you are gonns stay for one or two nights then best book in soon.
You could pay to use the secure manned carpark at the Premier Inn and stay at a nearby guest house which may be a bit cheaper - there are plenty within a few mins walk.
Or just come up for the day
