350Z TV tonite....

The word from within Nissan is that they have (like Clarkson) tested an import 350Z of unknown specification which therefore bears little relationship to the product that the UK market will receive in October (or sooner please....).
They are, nevertheless, hoping that the programme will address the imbalance generated by Clarkson's biased and ill-informed comments on Top Gear. Expect criticisms of the interior though..... Personally, I hope they recognise that the engine is not French and that its table-top torque curve does not make it unexciting.
For a more glowing report on a proper Euro 350Z (albeit still pre-production in some aspects, see Japanese Performance magazine September issue: quote "The best sub-£25K coupe in the world? We think so".

A courteous, but wishy-washy report that didn't really get to grips with the testing of the car. Wimpy driving compared to the brief snippet of the RX-8 shown - don't these guys want to exploit the handling potential or are they under threat of death not to damage the loan car?
And what is this fixation with the origins of the designer? Clarkson bordered on the racist with his comments in Top Gear.
