280zx stalls when braking

Hi

Firstly thanks for all your helpful suggestions a couple of months ago when my car wouldn't start. Turned out to be the EFI relay - sorted now!

It was running too rich, and after checking that all of the FI components were functioning correctly, I adjusted the spring tension in the AFM and corrected the mixture. However, it now stalls whenever I brake hard. If I start to brake with my foot on the clutch, the revs start to drop and if I brake hard enough, it actually stalls. By hard I mean during normal driving, not a tyre smoking emergency stop.

At first I thought that the deceleration could be causing the AFM flap to move, but surely the counterbalance would prevent this?

Any suggestions?

Many thanks,

Matt

It could be an air leak in the Brake servo or the associated pipework. Try disconnecting it and blocking it off (remember to leave more braking distance!)

It could also be a dirty sensor in the inlet manifold, some carb cleaner would sort it out if it was!
