I have a tattered copy of Janspeed's press release for the 260Z and the 280ZX turbo conversions: power and torque gains int the region of +30% are given. 0-60mph time drops from Road and Tracks stock figure of 10.1 seconds to an impressive 6.6 seconds and the 0-100 figure drops from 34.7 to 17.7!! Standing quarter is improved from 17.9 seconds at 79 mph stock to 15.3 seconds and 95 mph with the turbo. Standing kilometre from 32.7 / 98mph to 27.8 / 117 mph. On the road torque application improves 40 - 80 mph third gear acceleration from 14.4 seconds stock to 9.2 seconds for the turbo. In other words, the performance of the car is transformed!

If this is the old unit which has the large SU up front, then I ran one in a 240Z for a couple of years.
I found the on boost performance great, but off boost the car was sluggish and generally the fuel economy was terrible. I found that the SU has to run very rich off boost in order to cope with the demands of the Turbo on boost. Driving the car fast took a little planning and foresite to allow for the turbo lag. Eventually sold the turbo when it blew the third head gasket.
Generally it was great fun, but the whole set up was too fragile for my liking.
